Peanut Butter Suckers

Will was eating Thanksgiving Dinner at church when he decided the peanut butter in the celery was best accessed with a mostly eaten sucker (coconut, I think) that fit perfectly in the channel.

Last week I noticed the stereo in my truck had a loud static "pop" when I ran over a small bump in the road.  Later it changed stations when I went around a corner.  It continued to act more and more freaky as the week went on.  It randomly ran to full volume or ran to no volume.  It even started turning itself on and off.  Finally it just quit working.  Not even the backlighting would come on.

I pulled the stereo to see if I could repair a simple shorted wire or something.  When I got the unit out I could hear something rattling around inside.  I turned the thing upside down and a penny fell out of the CD slot.  But there were still more rattling around in there.  I opened up the radio and removed two more pennies from the circuit board.

Reinstalling the stereo confirmed my suspicion that the thing was toast.  I questioned a potential suspect for the penny insertion.  There is a certain amount of communication difficulty, but I'm confident I've identified the culprit and corrective action has been taken to ensure no repeated offenses of this nature.

Jennifer's Kayak Workout

On our recent vacation to Maine, Jennifer was a little concerned about missing her morning workouts.  Well,  the hiking, biking and kayaking seemed to do her just fine.  Check out those guns.

One of Will's first words was "TRACTOR".

We have pictures of him sitting on one before he was a year old.  Now he's convinced he is a professional driver.  He's actually pretty good at it.  Next summer I think we'll have him mowing the lawn.

Mother's Day Miracle

On a stormy Mother's Day, Jennifer was driving home from lunch with Will in the back seat when she stopped to get a branch out of the road. Before she got out of the car, a giant tree fell across the vehicle. The tree fell from left to right with the largest trunk impacting just behind the back seat. We are praising God that neither Will or Jennifer were injured at all. They remained in the car until the police arrived because there were electric lines down as well.
You can see there was damage to the entire vehicle. The driver's side where both Jennifer and Will were received the least damage. In fact, the driver's door was the only one that would open. The impact was so great that the rear axle and frame were bent so the wheels toe out.

Dennis was working Sunday afternoon but was home later that night.

Will really enjoyed his time in a police car as well as all the other emergency equipment and personnel that responded. Jennifer was shaken a bit by the event but she is fine and rejoicing in the goodness of God.

Jennifer's Performance

Jennifer performed this "Sign and interpretive movement" to the Casting Crowns song Praise you in the storm.  I wasn't smart enough to record the real performance in church, but I did manage to capture a practice session at home.  Poor quality, but here it is.

Sound quality is poor so you may have to turn your volume up.

Here's a better version of the video I posted on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUNFVOZN3cg

I know I should get more stuff about our family adventures posted here.

We thank God that Andy is recovering from this injury.
